National Trails Day 5/31 - Postponed due to possible incliment weather
Five years ago this month the members of Troop 163 started work on a hiking trail along the west shore of the Pequonnock River at Great Hollow Lake and completed it six months later. Recently the parent committee decided that Troop 163 would adopt this trail and provide the annual maintenance required along with possible enhancements.
Work on this trail, in addition to counting as community service hours, will also meet the requirements for conservation project hours. This years work party has been timed to coincide with National Trails Day and our event has been registered with the American Hiking Society.
All members of Troop 163 are encouraged to come out to clear downed limbs, prune back some brush, pick up some litter, paint over graffiti, re-blaze the trail, and perhaps perform some terracing work.
